Unexpected uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) into the gastrointestinal tract is common and may represent significant findings. Due to the little evidence in the literature of FDG uptake within the gastrointestinal tract, it is presented the following case report, in which positron emission tomography/computed tomography reports a rectal polyp.
